Join us for the 33rd Annual Poor Man’s Supper, featuring Author of “How to Human”, Carlos Whittaker on Thursday, October 17th presented by Valero. 

Our tradition of Poor Man’s Supper began many years ago when we invited guests to come and share a simple meal of stew in a bread bowl.  Through the humble experience of waiting in line to receive their meals, guests connected in a personal and profound way with those who come to our doors seeking the most basic of human needs, being fed with dignity.

Guest are introduced to program graduates sharing their stories of success at our annual May luncheon, Feeding Hope. This allows our guest to gain a deeper understanding of our programs and how they impact residents. We encourage guests to attend a Tuesday Tour beforehand because the luncheon is geared for what happens after our residents leave our doors and how the audience can help support us. Our hope for this luncheon is to inspire guest to support us financially by joining the “Feeding Hope Society” our sustainable pledge program, or through volunteering. Any support makes such a difference. The highlight of this event is sharing with our guest the successes and transformational work of Metro Ministries.
